I did it to freak out people looking at my screen on the train. You know what on my commute to work about 40% of the people have iPhones and I always try to check out their set-up. I think I've only ever seen ONE other person with modded springboard. Same at my work. I've JB 5 different phones for the guys working there. They are all like "So what's a Jail break?".

That's hilarious. It's almost like all jailbreakers are in hiding. Let me think. I only know one person who knew about jailbreaking and then I convinced them to jailbreak, this was a while back now, but anyhow I never see anyone in the wild with a jailbroken iPhone and what's funny is I can always tell because of the same looking springboard or the stock sounds.

From my experience it's pointless jailbreaking someone else's iDevice for them because 1 they are going to mess it up right away and most likely not be able to jailbreak again + they wouldn't know how and 2 they don't ever use any of the jailbreak stuff ever or know how or want to learn how lol ...... I still do it, but I personally think it's pointless.

My bosses had a problem with his phone so he called bell and they said oh it's because your not on the latest firmware. Where's he was on 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 was out, so he proceeded to update in iTunes and then wonder why he lost everything. At that point I was wowed out of my mind and said to him ( luckily I backed up your SHSH dumbass ) or something along those lines. Way to listen to the bell rep, their always right

I've actually seen a few iPod Touches and iPhone's jailbroken with custom springboards in the wild. Quite weird actually, cause the people who did it I thought were dumbasses and had no idea what to do with anthing technology.

I've only helped one person jailbreak their iphone and that was my girlfriend! Luckily she's techy enough to fix her own fuck ups and cool enough to not bother me if she can't. She'll just google her ass off until she figures it out. . I have 2 or 3 people at work that bother me about it but usually just tell them that their warranty will be void and that scares them enough to stop asking. I just don't mention that all you have to do is restore if you ever need to take it to crapple.
