Hi,

I recently restored my jailbroken iphone to its "original settings" through itunes and now I am receiving No Service and a notification that says Waiting for Activation - This may take some time.

I don't think I've ever unlocked this iphone; however, I'm not ruling out that I may have accidently done so somehow. (Although I really don't know how I could accidently do this...)

Does anybody think they could help me solve my no service problems?

Your iPhone should activate very soon. Try connecting it to your computer.

You'll need an official AT&T sim card to activate if your phone is locked to AT&T

It's an official AT&T sim. Same one I got when I walked out of the AT&T store a couple years ago.

Oh ok yes. If the device does not activate right away then I would restore again and see what happens.

Try going into airplane mode, wait 30 secs, then disable airplane mode. See if that works.

Okay, I restored it again, twice, and it still gives me that Waiting for Activation popup.

Try going into airplane mode, wait 30 secs, then disable airplane mode. See if that works.

Just tried this too, and it didn't do anything. =/

Seeing how since you're not jb any more you could always call at&t and tell them. I was just re-reading your original post, and thought maybe you could power off then pull the sim card out rePlace it then power back on.

I tried that too.

I'm not sure about calling AT&T since my 1 yr warranty with Apple is up already. But would that affect AT&T?

Not sure. The least you can do is call them and see if there is some troubleshooting steps they can walk you through. I have a 3G on 4.2.1 also and that's my biggest fear. Having to restore and the phone stops working. Hope it works out.

try to restore back and activate using yr AT&T simcard

Restore using custom fw (ACTIVATED) from repo. And it will work fine.

Try inserting another AT&T sim, it may be the sim card....

I realized that I had another iphone that wasn't working, so I decided to take it apart and switch the logicboard between the two, and it works. So I know the SIM card isn't the problem

I'm going to try to see what happens when I restore using the custom fw later today.

i've similar trouble, My 3G iphone with 4.2.1 IOS enable multitasking, making me have to be patient, as they often go into safe mode if it runs out of memory, so I JB again with uncheck Cydia and uncheck enable multitasking, everything went smoothly, until when I want to synchronize with itunes, it says "sim card in this iphone does not Appear to be support ........" What solution should I do, please enlightenment ..... thanks, sorry for my bad English, I'm learning english ... thanks once again, for all attention
