Hey, i got an self made pc witch has :
i5-760
gainward gtx 570
8gb ddr3 1333mhz
ssd for windows
2x hdd's for games and other documents

But the problem is that in for example battlefield 3 my brother's pc beat my pc in loading the maps and he has an pc with

amd phenom II x2 cpu
gtx 460 that he borrows from me
8 gb ddr3 (unknown mhz)
and one hdd for windows and games

So how can he's pc be faster in loading maps than my pc?

i'm really confused here :s

Edit: Forgot to mention that we both have win 7 ultimate 64bit.

"2x hdd's for games and other documents"

BF3 isn't on the SSD

dang, i ment he has quadcore cpu.

but amd aint supposed to be better than intel
even an intel core 2 quad is better than phenom 2 quadl

and my brother runs on an 3 year old 7200rpm disc and i run the game on an year old samsung spinpoint f3 disc

so i dontt understand anything..

Maybe you use more of your RAM in other software and such working Background than him?

Amd for me is for multitasking and for servers.

Intel is for gaming. (had amd once, my intel pentium 4 one core beat the amd in performance)

But i dont think that too many processes and programs running will do any impact on the free unused ram, just the processor.
And my processor gets to 100% in 1 second only when loading maps, same with my brother's pc.

The processor is what makes the computer faster not the RAM. I would rather have a 4.0 Intel i7 Extreme with 8-16GB or RAM over 3.8 Intel i7 Extreme with 64GB of RAM.
