[SOLVED] iPhone Firmware is not compatible

i get a iphone firmware not compatible error when i tred to update my iphone 4 GSM from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1
what should i do?

Did you try manual update (Download yourself then shift+restore) or did you let iTunes download and install?

i got itunes to download and install for me. is there any difference between a manual and auto update ? is there anything that may effect the jailbreak?

No effect on Jailbreak, download http://appldnld.appl...08_Restore.ipsw
and shift+restore in iTunes, then guide iTunes to it.

download that, open iTunes:

Windows: hold Shift & click on Update, choose that .ipsw

Mac: hold Alt & click on Update, choose that .ipsw

Sometimes it depends on where you get the ipsw from. I've had many fail from top sites.

Well I was got the same problem that i could not update my iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.1.1. Now I got the answer after reading this post. This is nicely describe that how to install in your iPhone. Thank you
